The Board of Supervisors of Franklin Township Butler County will hold budget work sessions and act upon any other matters brought before the Board on September 26, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. and October 31, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. The meetings will be held at the Municipal Building at 191 Election House Road, Prospect.


On September 21, 2020, the Franklin Township Butler County Board of Supervisors voted to resume holding their regular monthly business meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the third Monday of every month beginning with their October 19, 2020 meeting with public attendance limited (on a first-come-first-served basis) to ten people. Social distancing and masks will be required. The agenda will continue to be posted at the township website,, by the Thursday prior to any meeting and the public may comment by mail, email, phone call, phone message or written communication placed in the township drop box on the south side of the township office building. All comments received by 5:00 p.m. the day of each meeting will be read or conveyed to all the supervisors at the meeting prior to any action being taken. The Board of Supervisors of Franklin Township, Butler County, will take public comment at their meetings on October 19, 2020 and November 16, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 191 Election House Road, Prospect, PA. on Proposed Ordinance No.101, “A Comprehensive Property Maintenance Ordinance.” Thereafter at their November 16, 2020 meeting, the Board will consider adoption of proposed Ordinance No. 101. Proposed Ordinance No. 101 would establish property maintenance regulations for all properties in Franklin Township. Section titles include: Purpose; Definitions; Storing Junk Vehicles; Accumulating Trash or Bulk Waste; Hauling Trash or Bulk Waste; Noise; Roaming Animals; Buffer Yards Required for Agricultural Uses; Break-away Mailboxes Required in Public Rights of Way; Streets to be Kept Clear; Mobile or Manufactured Home Park Maintenance and Performance Standards; Recreational Vehicles Not for Use as Residences; Littering; Boarding Up Prohibited; Mechanical Equipment not to be Stored on Residentially-used Property; Garage Sales or Yard Sales Limited; Blighted and Abandoned Property; Code Enforcement Official; and Enforcement, Violations, and Penalties. If enacted, it shall be effective immediately. As public attendance at township meetings is currently limited to ten persons due to township-mandated social distancing requirements, the public may desire to submit comments via phone call, email, mail, or written submission dropped off to the township office. All such submissions and comments received by 5:00 p.m. the day of each meeting will be read or conveyed to the supervisors during the Community Participation portion of the meeting, prior to any action being taken.
